*You Don't Know Jeanne*

Who knew that a little rain could do so much harm.....?

Today was crazy...it all started with the conversion from my normal bag to my laptop bag....and hence the misplacement of my umbrella into the laptop bag! So, of course...it had to POUR today. I got soaked on the way to work, on the way to class and on the way to the train station after class.
To make matters worse, my train home was cancelled! Or, as the o-so-kind SEPTA people put so eloquently...the service was permanently suspended. Why?!
Just to clarify...this meant that over 300 suburbanites were without a way to get back to their plush pads by way of public transportation. And that means that over 300 people needed taxi cabs to take them home...me being one of them...

So, I stood in a line that stretched half way across the train station for 35 minutes and waited for the next available taxi cab...BUT IT'S NOT OVER YET!

The road that the taxi needed to take to get me home...was CLOSED..yes, CLOSED! How the fuck can they do that?
The taxi cab driver then had to backtrack and come up with some completely out of the way route to get me home! Good thing he knew what he was doing because I had no clue.....CRAZINESS!

So...about an hour and a half after I had thought I was going to be home...I walked in the door $40 dollars poorer and 10 years older...it's true, stress really ages you!

So, that was my day. No umbrella and no transportation...evil.

But it makes me think about those who aren't able to think of those things as necessites. Homeless, less fortunate, under privileged people (when I say under I mean below standard level). The fact is, I could have afforded the umbrella and shelling out $40 bucks doesn't set me back too much...but all of this definitely clues me into how easily destroyed my world can become without just a few of the things that I continually take for granted.

It's days like these that make me thankful for having a house over my head, shoes on my feet and underwear on my butt...(that is, if I decide to wear underwear...or panties ~that was for YOU abs!)

Anyway - the bottom line: Crazy day...I hope tomorrow is better!
